‘Juniorisation’ of the industry?
David Field heard a great neologism in a bar last week… the securities finance industry is being “junior-ised”. It’s clear firms simply can’t afford as much expensive senior management as they could, so layers of MDs and EDs are being shed. But the work still needs to be done, so the VPs are being put in charge. Many have never seen a crisis. Some haven’t seen an interest rate rise. Where will they turn when they need to access some real experience? (Thanks to MB for the new word!)
